What are the System Requirements?
Midnight/MU is a web-based application, so you should only need a browser that supports the following:
 
- (X)HTML as defined by the W3C
- Cascading Style Sheets as defined by the W3C
- Javascript
 
A fast Internet connection (e.g. broadband) is recommended. M/MU can be very sluggish when using dial-up modems during busy periods
 
Although Midnight/MU is designed to be browser-neutral as far as possible, it does render best in Mozilla-based browsers, since these are what have been used to develop with. A few very minor features do not work in IE6, due to it's incomplete support for CSS (for example, buttons do not change colour when the mouse hovers over them)
 
The following combinations of browser and operating systems have been tested and are known to work:
- Mozilla Firefox 1.0 upwards on all platforms
- Mozilla 1.2 upwards on all platforms
- Netscape 7.x upwards on all platforms
- Opera 7.x upwards on all platforms
- Internet Explorer 5.05 upwards on Windows 2000 and Windows XP
- Internet Explorer 5.00 on Windows 98 SE
- Apple Safari on MacOS X and Windows

 
The following will definitely NOT work:
- Any Netscape 4.x or earlier on any platform
- Internet Explorer 3.x or earlier
- Web Explorer on OS/2
- Any text-only browser, such as Lynx
